This masterclass explores both the creative possibilities of immersive audio and the technical artistry of mixing. It will challenge assumptions about immersive audio, guiding participants to rethink and master the future of music production beyond stereo.
APPLY NOWInstructor: Hans-Martin Buff
Session title: Creating 3D Music (Duration: 4 hours)
Description:
Music in Dolby Atmos is a thing these days. Mostly, it is used to create immersive remakes of stereo productions. But is this really the way? Music ultimately shines in the environment that it’s made for, so shouldn’t the aim be to create for immersive, rather than to simply mix for it?
In his workshop, Hans-Martin Buff will show how to create 3D Music - from augmenting musical stereo ideas to producing from scratch. There will be many audio examples, including from his Grammy®-winning work on Peter Gabriel’s “i/o (In-Side Mix)”.
(There will be a short 15 minute break in the middle of the workshop)
Instructor: Antal Sebok /Toni/
Session title: Dolby Atmos: opportunity or not? (Duration: 1.0 hour)
Description: In this session, we’ll explore whether immersive audio formats are just fleeting trends, or the real opportunity and future for those who want to stay ahead of the curve.
Will stereo remain the ultimate standard forever? Why did we leave mono behind back in the day? Is mixing in Atmos really harder just because there are more speakers? And what’s the point of flying a vocal over your head? why even do that?
We’ll dive into these questions (and a million more) so that doubts can turn into answers—most importantly, the ones you’ll discover for yourself by the end of the session.
Break (Duration: 30 min)
Session title: Mixing of a club banger - advanced techniques (Duration: 1.5 hours)
Description: In this session, we’ll break down the mix of an Electro-Pop track that has been certified Gold in its home country. We’ll dive into the fundamentals of mixing, exploring the philosophy behind how an engineer shapes the sound in this genre with advanced unorthodox techniques: the bus system, aux tracks and the shape of reverbs and delays, and group summing.
Why does that specific compressor need to be there, and why exactly in that spot? How much can we transform the sound with the character of our tools, how far can we go in fixing imperfections, and at the same time, how faithful should we stay to the original performance?
All of this will be demonstrated interactively using Apogee plugins—where you’ll not only watch, but also have the chance to ask questions and get real answers.

Antal Sebok started his career more than 20 years ago as a professional DJ, performing week after week as a resident in some of Hungary’s leading clubs. At the same time, he began exploring recording and production technologies, working with the very first purely software-based solutions and pioneering VST plugins. His first productions were commercially released around 2005, marking the beginning of his career as a producer.
Today, Antal is the owner of a premier mixing studio in Hungary, where he collaborates with top European artists in the commercial music scene, specializing in pop and electronic dance music.
In addition to his creative career, Antal has been working in the professional audio industry for more than a decade in different roles. He currently directs all sales activities across the EMEAI region (Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India) for the legendary Apogee Electronics. In this role, he travels to some of the world’s most renowned studios—supporting their evolving needs, building strong industry partnerships, and occasionally stepping back into the engineer’s chair to mix. Antal is passionate about sharing Apogee’s vision for the future of immersive sound and professional audio, always balancing his technical expertise, creative background, and global perspective to inspire both artists and industry professionals alike.
