This two-day workshop, led by Grammy-nominated artists Layth Sidiq and Naseem Alatrash (Qawsaan), will delve into the unique dynamics of duo playing, a key feature of Qawsaan's innovative approach to Arabic music. Participants will explore the essential elements of Arabic music, such as Maqam (melodic frameworks) and Iqa’a (rhythmic cycles), while also learning how to craft arrangements for two instruments in both traditional and contemporary settings. The workshop focuses on communication, improvisation, and creating a harmonious musical dialogue, culminating in an informal presentation of the collaborative work developed during the sessions.
