2 Hours Per Week (On Fridays Only)
This certificate course will arm students with powerful tools and techniques needed for digital music production. Starting with the basics of audio and how to use a Digital Audio Workstation all the way to song pre-production, recording, editing and mixing techniques. Through a series of assignments students learn how to create their own songs and instrumental tracks while developing their ability to think and listen like a producer.
Learning Outcomes
- Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Effectively use a Digital Audio Workstation to record and develop their own musical ideas
- Leverage a multitude of tools for music production, including recording, editing, MIDI programming, editing and mixing.
- Cultivate nuanced listening skills and employ them in the production process
