The Music Teachers Symposium is designed with music educators from the MENA region in mind. With the main goal of helping teachers perform better in the classroom, improve their communication skills and contact with students, strengthen their teaching methodologies and strategies as well as network and learn with like-minded peers.

Program will be provided and supported by a selection of top faculty from Berklee College of music.

    Title: “Be The Deejay: placing relevance in its right context”.
    Description: This learning segment will be highlighted by him defining the term deejay or DJ, and It’s meta-phorical applications in music education/instructional practices.

    Title: Jazz Pedagogy 101.
    Description: Jazz music is America’s only indigenious art music form, and has spread throughout the world. This session will focus on developing techniques to help demystify the teaching of jazz and discuss the similarities and differences between jazz and more traditional instrumental styles.

    Title: “Putting Technology in Its Place: Approaches to innovative practices with music tech”.
    Description: In this session we will unpack a variety of music technology, their purposes, and application in this ever expanding world of 21st century global music education.

    Title: Music Communities: Building resilience in your learning groups through honoring access.
    Description: In this session we will work through a variety of community-building exercises that will hopefully expand relevance and competence in our music learning communities/groups.
