This cross-cultural ensemble will help to develop instrumental, aural, and improvisational skills, with a focus on odd metres as well as traditional Arabic modes within a diverse music repertoire from the Arab world :world: the Middle East, North Africa and the Mediterranean, including Gypsy traditional styles.
The class will present a final performance.
The ensemble typically includes instruments such as: the oud, qanun, ney, violin, viola, cello, bass and percussion (including the tablah and various frame drums such as the daff or the riqq).
Open to all instruments.
